AR-15 VS Mini 14?

An inexpensive Palmeto AR vs the Ruger Mini 14, new model.

I think this review shows that either would be just fine for self defense. But not for hunting if long range shots are the norm, say beyond 300 yards.

I've had several mini 14's and none were accurate....I now have a Spikes M4-LE and it's very, very accurate
